Throughout the year we run many trips all of different abilities, these range from flat water day trips to multi-day trips as well as moving water and more extreme white water. Members of the club get added to an email distribution list keeping you up to date with up and coming trips and events.
A number of you have been asking – whens the family camp and I must apologise for the delay in getting something organised.
Ive now provisionally booked a campsite for 21-23rd August (Fri&Sat nights) at http://www.rushbanksfarm.co.uk/ to enable a 2 day 25 mile (total) paddle on the River
Stour which forms the border between Suffolk and Essex – Constable Country. Heres a bit of a guide to the River Stour – http://riverstourboating.org.uk/about.htm.
The river is very similar to the Waveney and Ivel in character. Anybody happy to paddle 12 miles each day at 1 star level will be welcome to attend.
I now need to confirm numbers with the campsite, so if you can let me know if you wish to attend ASAP that would be very helpful. If you leave it to the last minute then I wont
be able to guarantee the campsite has space, so the sooner you book the better. To confirm your place send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information:
Contact number & email
Number in family group
Type of accommodation (tent, caravan, campervan, yurt, igloo etc)
Type of boat[s]
White water trips
North Wales trips will be emailed out at shorter notice due to river levels
Remember if you want to paddle moving water this really has to be done in the winter time, as the rivers in this country are mostly rain fed so we need the rain. There is very little whitewater to paddle in the summer without driving over to Europe.
Possibility of a surfing weekend in the summer time.
More information and short notice trips are emailed out nearer the time.
